BASTIONI
Florence is also known for its bastions: strong walls built to defend the city in the ‘500. Part of those walls was designed by Michelangelo in the 1529, after Medici’s driving out. In order to defend the Republic in Florence, Michelangelo set the wall between Forte Belvedere and San Niccolò.
